Blood pressure is the force the blood exerts on the walls of arteries as it moves through them. It too much blood flows through arteries it is known as high blood pressure or hyper tension which can be very harmful for health as it can result in heart attack and stroke. 1) Get moving

Physical exercise is very important for maintaining low blood pressure. Aerobic exercises are important. It has been researched that exercising for 30 minutes a day can lower your blood pressure by 4 to 9 mm Hg. Exercising can help your blood flowing at a constant level and prevent it from rising to abnormal limits. The exercises which prove helpful for lowering blood pressure include

iv) Swimming
All these exercises maintain the blood flow at constant level. Brisk walking for at least 30 minutes can be very helpful. This makes heart use the oxygen and pump blood easily through the body.

2) Focus on nutrition

Eating healthy and nutrition rich diet can help in lowering blood pressure. Low fat and cholesterol diet play a major contribution as they do not block the vessels and prevent heart attacks. Whole grain diet, vegetables and fruits are also beneficial. Use less preserved and oily food and try taking healthy and natural diet. DASH (Dietary Approaches to stop Hypertension) diet should be taken which emphasizes on taking in low sodium salt and consuming more fruits and fresh vegetables. White beans, fat free plain yoghurt, kiwifruit, peaches, bananas and broccoli are important nutritional diets in lowering blood pressure. Potatoes should be added in the diet as they contain potassium and magnesium which are very beneficial in lowering blood pressure.
